2. CIRCULAR BED

CIRCULAR BED is the duo of austéje žvirblyté (lt) - voice & trumpet, and jorrit westerhof (nl) - guitar & fx. _jorrit's creative use of electronics adds textures and layers to the music, austeja's not-so-orthodox trumpet playing adds the organic component. _adventurous improvisations turn into melodic stories and vice versa. _the general mood constantly escapes all limitations and attempts to describe. _it's a mix of futuristic soundscapes, heartfelt cries and musical hide-and-seek

austéje and jorrit both studied at the prince claus conservatory but only met much later, just before the start of the pandemic, at each other's concerts. Those encounters were the beginning of a musical and romantic relationship. _since then, the duo has recorded many hours of music in varying line-ups. _one day as a duo on guitar/drum, the next they played Japanese folk on turntables with improvised opera. _after exploring the ins and outs of each other's musical synergy, they started a trumpet/guitar duo and called it 'circular bed'
